Description
In this course, you'll master the fundamentals of urban energy simulation using the Open Source CEA software, exploring dynamic energy demand modeling, life cycle analysis, and renewable energy potential. You’ll learn to optimize thermal networks, evaluate district heating and cooling layouts, and assess energy retrofits at scale. With a strong focus on geospatial data sourcing and scenario analysis, the course equips you to design cost-effective, low-emission energy systems. By the end, you'll have the skills and confidence to scope, optimize, and deliver impactful district energy consultancy projects with precision and efficiency.
This 3-day course targets architects and engineers looking to enrich their professional practice on District energy simulation. The attendee will start by learning how to simulate the consumption, emissions and costs of energy supply of thousands of buildings, to later on, find the best combination of building retrofits, thermal networks, and renewable energy to cost-effectively reduce their Carbon footprint and imports of Fossil Fuels. Proficiency on the use of the City Energy Analyst (CEA) - one of the most powerful and completely open-source tool in the market - under the guidance of Dr. Jimeno Fonseca, co-inventor of CEA and former consultant for the United Nations on district energy. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to expand your technical skills on sustainable urban development.
