Module 1. Data & Standards
ISO Standards: Master dynamic district energy simulation, analysis and optimisation methods, standards, and understand their assumptions and limitations.
Geospatial data: Acquire expertise in preparing and effectively sourcing geospatial urban energy systems data using both on-site and online best practices.
Module 2. Analysis & Optimization
Life cycle analysis: Gain proficiency in estimating emissions (Embodied and operation) and costs (Capex and Opex) associated with buildings and district energy systems.
Building retrofitting: Develop the ability to evaluate building retrofits at the portfolio scale based on the carbon foot print of building materials and costs of energy, both renewable and not renewable.

Meet your instructor
Dr. Jimeno Fonseca
Jimeno is the head of BIM at Axpo Grid, where he leads the adoption of digital methods for construction and operation of power systems in one of the biggest grid operators of Switzerland. He is also co-inventor and core developer of the City Energy Analyst (CEA), which he has used to consult important asset managers and organisations, including the United Nations on district heating and cooling. Jimeno holds a PhD in urban energy systems from the ETH Zürich, and has completed several certifications in Information Technology and agile project management. His work has received multiple grants and awards and has been contributor to the 4th IPCC Report on Climate Change. Jimeno loves to leverage digital technologies to make processes more efficient in the energy sector.
